Why a Foundation for independent (financial economic)
The promise was made for such free independent bankability and structuring service in September 2014 in front of an audience of 350 persons at the sounding of the concept of ElectriFl [click here; add movie], designed by the initiator of the Foundation for the European Commission under the SE4ALL program.
Other 'platforms' - free from any interest - than this independent Foundation appeared not optimal to render services at the edge of public / private sector propositions such as mini-grids and filling the gap that exists in the delivery model of developing banks (developing banks do not underwrite loan packages and operate differently compared to commercial / investment banks).
ElectriFl was launched QI 2016 and received 450 renewable energy project-proposals seeking support in the first two bidding rounds. For four mini-grid applicants the Foundation has performed independent financial modelling and bankability services, including the largest mini-grid operator of India.
